Dynamic, a great year for Oregon Pinot and this is one of the best. “Ripe dark berries, cherry cola, licorice and a hint of potpourri on the deeply perfumed nose. Smooth and expansive on the palate, offering pliant, spice-tinged boysenberry, cherry liqueur and floral pastille flavors complemented by a smoky mineral flourish. Woodward Canyon "NELMS ROAD" Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
$15.00/glass
$60.00/bottle
Walla Walla, WA Winemaker Notes: This new bottling of Nelms Road Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the 2018 vintage well. The younger vines from select vineyards continue to produce better grapes allowing us to produce better wine nearly every year. Add to that some truly phenomenal press wine from some of the oldest and most celebrated vineyards in Washington State, and we can produce exceptional cabernet sauvignon at a very impressive price. The warm growing conditions of 2018 gave enticing aromas of black current, olive, spices, tobacco, and lead pencil. The wine is deep red in color. In the mouth the wine offers savory blackberry fruit, mature tannins, beautiful texture, and a long generous finish; the wine is in brilliant proportion. With proper storage, this wine should easily age five years or longer. This red wine would be fantastic with wood-fired pizza, roasted meats, and aged cheese.
Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

The dark fruit flavors, silky palate and structure make it a lovely wine for food pairing. This wine’s elegance, acidity and spice notes complement grilled or roasted dishes, such as herb-crusted lamb, roasted chicken or grilled pork loin. Pinot Noir Blanc
Domaine Serene "Coeur Blanc" 2017 Pinot Noir Blanc
$250.00
Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills Winemaker Notes: Coeur Blanc is an extremely special and limited production white wine made from fully mature Pinot Noir grapes. At harvest, 100% estate grown Pinot Noir grapes from selected vineyard blocks are handpicked and carefully sorted. The grapes are then gently whole-cluster pressed, limiting contact with the grape skins so that only the purest essence, or “white heart” juice is expressed. The resulting juice is barrel fermented in French oak and then aged on the lees prior to bottling. Light golden in color, the 2017 Coeur Blanc offers alluring aromas of white flowers, white stone fruit and lemon-lime. Electric acidity gives way to a rich mid-palate that showcases layers of deeply complex flavors of peach and exotic notes of lychee. A soft, linen-like minerality leads to a long, beautiful finish. This is easily one of the finest examples of Coeur Blanc that we have ever created. This acclaimed wine is just one of many exquisite offerings from Domaine Serene, Maison Evenstad, Château de la Crée, and Les Tourelles de la Crée.

Poets Leap 2017 Riesling
$50.00
Washington, Columbia Valley Winemaker Notes: Inspired by the great wines of Germany and winemaker Armin Diel, proprietor of the renowned Schlossgut Diel. Each vintage of Poet’s Leap uses small lots of hand-harvested grapes that are carefully sorted, whole cluster pressed and then fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks to capture the grapes’ bright fruit character. Poet’s Leap is an off-dry Riesling with expressive, spicy aromatics and generous, lively flavors. Bright acidity gives the wine its vibrancy, and a clean underlying touch of sweetness contributes to its engaging finish.
Figgins 2016 Riesling
$85.00
Walla Walla, WA Winemaker Notes: Its color is a striking, gold-tinted chartreuse. The nose explodes with bosc pear, granny smith apples, and mixed white flowers. With time in the glass, a mouth-watering note of rising bread yeast emerges. It is rich but deliciously dry with a brilliant acidity that only Riesling can bring. The finish is wonderfully long, clean, refreshing, and will leave you wanting more.

This wine has a pale straw color with glistening edges. Fresh fruit aromas of ripe pear and lime zest are followed by pleasant honeysuckle notes. On the palate, there are lively flavors of nectarine, ripe pear, and fresh cut pineapple, highlighted by violet tinges. This is a rich, viscous Pinot Gris, with a striking balance of ripe fruit and fresh acidity.

$150.00
Reims, France Winemaker Notes: Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label is the signature champagne of the House. Dominated by Pinot Noir, it offers a perfect balance of structure and finesse. First, Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label looks beautiful: golden-yellow, with a foaming necklace of tiny bubbles. Next it is so pleasing to the nose: initially reminiscent of yellow and white fruits, then of vanilla and later of brioche. Note the fine balance between the fruity aromas coming from the grape varieties and the toasty aromas, the result of the three years of bottle aging. The first sip delivers all the freshness and strength so typical of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label with a symphony of fruit tastes following (pear, lemon). Here is a true member of the Brut family, well structured, admirably vinous. The lingering aromas echo and re-echo, with each fruit or almond notes distinct. Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label manages to reconcile two opposing factors - strength and silkiness - and to hold them in perfect balance with aromatic intensity and a lot of freshness.
Dom Perignon "Brut" 2006 Champagne Blend
$325.00
France, Champagne Winemaker Notes: On the nose: The immediate impression is of the mildness of the pure, airy, bright bouquet. A floral, fruity pastel tone then unfolds and quickly darkens into candied fruit, ripe hay and toasted notes, along with hints of licorice. On the palate: The wine's opulence – contained and succulent, round at heart – reveals itself in the mouth. The envelope slides and stretches, and the wine becomes more complex and edgy, silkier than it is creamy. The whole eventually melts into an exquisite bitterness tinged with the briny taste of the sea. The weather in 2006 was mixed, but warm and dry overall. While July was scorching hot, August was unusually cool and wet. The almost summery weather in September made the vintage possible by drying out the few patches of botrytis and maturing the grapes far more than usual. The harvest began on September 11 and lasted nearly four weeks.

Schramsburg "Blanc de Blancs" Brut
$75.00
California, Napa Valley Wine Maker Notes: The Schramsberg style of Blanc de Blancs is dry and crisp. Small lots of barrel fermented wines, some of which complete malolactic fermentation, are added to the stainless-steel fermented wines to create added complexity in the blended base wine. After undergoing a second fermentation in bottle, the wine then ages on its yeast lees for about two years prior to disgorgement. With its vibrant, fruitful and focused nature, this sparkling wine will maintain its freshness, structure and refined finish for many years, even decades following its initial release.

Amavi 2017 Syrah
$70.00
Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley Winemaker Notes: We rang in 2017 with three arctic fronts that brought temperatures down to -10 in the coldest areas. This was followed by a cool, wet spring that pushed bud break back by two weeks. We opened our canopies early to allow additional sunlight and promote growth. Early summer was very warm, which accelerated the season and pushed ripening back on track. During the heat spikes in August we had a very slight haze that kept us from hitting the triple digits. As we rolled into harvest, the winds changed and our skies cleared. The weather in Walla Walla was ideal, with our usual long warm days and wonderfully cool evenings. “The result was another amazing vintage with nice yields of bold fruit with great acidity,” says Winemaker and Partner Jean-François Pellet. SMELLS LIKE: dark rose petal, black cherry gelato, fresh ground nutmeg TASTES LIKE: elegant black fruit, wet river rock, hint of sweet brine MOUTHFEEL: balanced & complex front to back, full of beautiful tannins DRINK WITH: baby back ribs, BBQ chicken, burgers – anything grilled
Deuce Cellars "Reserve" 2014 Syrah
$75.00
Walla Walla Valley, WA Winemaker Notes: The 2014 vintage is drinking absolutely beautifully right now and was a great year for wine growers in Walla Walla. Rich and dark fruit, almost cab like earthiness which balances the Syrah fruit very well. The age has worked well integrating all of the complex flavors and you experience a mature, well rounded wine. Tocchini Notes: A very recent introduction for me on this one, but it feels like it fits a Walla Walla slot that we don’t normally populate. Dennis, you’ll love this one. These folks are 35 year Lake O residents who In 2005 planted two acres of Syrah in an old river bed in the NE corner of the Walla Walla valley between Abeja and Charles Smith vineyard. It’s a BIG wine, but nimble on it’s feet, like William Perry. Extra points if you get reference!!
Gifford-Hirlinger "Obligatory" Marieglen Vineyard 2016 Syrah
$90.00
Walla Walla, Valley, WA Winemaker Notes: world class Syrah and this is another winner. Starts off with gamy flavors followed with black pepper, wet clay, soil and mushrooms. Delicious!
Abeja 2017 Syrah
$98.00
Walla Walla Valley, Washington Winemaker Notes: Complex and compelling, this estate-grown Syrah sends up smoky notes of cured meat, nougat and caramel. Black cherry fruit anchors the barrel notes, and it just gets more and more delicious as it winds its way across the palate. This demonstrates classy winemaking and perfect balance. The fruit for this wine is grown at an elevation of 1310 feet on the grounds of the Winery. The higher elevation and the proximity to the Blue Mountains, gives this vineyard a longer, cooler ripening season than most other areas of the Walla Walla Appellation. The cooler site results in a style much like that of a classic Northern Rhone with complexity and balance without the concentration and higher alcohol levels of Syrah produced in warmer areas.

Doubleback 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon
$210.00/750 ml
$420.00/Magnum
Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley Winemaker Notes: I can’t say enough how much I love the 2018 vintage and this wine - an absolutely stunning year and a vintage that shows a winemaker how great wines can really be. I tasted this new Doubleback Cabernet Sauvignon over a week and it kept getting better and changing in complexity. One true challenge is creating a wine that will age for decades but will also drink well on release. I think 2017 accomplished that to perfection. Crème de cassis, black currant, blackberry, wafts of dried cranberry, a hint of wet gravel after a fresh rain and pencil shavings. The richness of this wine is a love affair- chewy tannins and a long, long finish is something that I truly gravitate towards in wines that I enjoy on a personal level and it is on high display here. Everything is in balance
Woodward Canyon "NELMS ROAD" Cabernet Sauvignon
$15.00/Glass
$60.00/Bottle
Walla Walla, WA Winemaker Notes: This new bottling of Nelms Road Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the 2018 vintage well. The younger
vines from select vineyards continue to produce better grapes allowing us to produce better wine
nearly every year. Add to that some truly phenomenal press wine from some of the oldest and most
celebrated vineyards in Washington State, and we can produce exceptional cabernet sauvignon at a
very impressive price. The warm growing conditions of 2018 gave enticing aromas of black current,
olive, spices, tobacco, and lead pencil. The wine is deep red in color. In the mouth the wine offers
savory blackberry fruit, mature tannins, beautiful texture, and a long generous finish; the wine is in
brilliant proportion. With proper storage, this wine should easily age five years or longer. This red
wine would be fantastic with wood-fired pizza, roasted meats, and aged cheese.

Antica "Antinori Estate" 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon
$125.00
California, Napa Valley Winemakers Notes: Nestled high upon Atlas Peak, in the eastern mountains of the Napa Valley lies a majestic property, owned by one of the “royal families” of winemaking; this property is Antica. The name Antica is a combination of the last name Antinori and California, and represents the Antinori family’s longstanding desire to craft exceptional estate wines that are a true expression of Napa Valley terroir. The Antinori family’s winemaking history has been synonymous with the famed wine growing regions of Tuscany and Umbria since its inception more than 600 years ago. Marchese Piero Antinori first visited and fell in love with Napa Valley in 1966, after which he dreamt of producing an Antinori Napa Valley wine. In the mid-1980s, the opportunity presented itself; a 1,200-acre estate on a high plain, in the eastern mountains of Napa Valley. Antinori knew that the property’s Atlas Peak location had great potential for growing quality wine grapes, so the family took part in developing the property. Situated above the fog line, the Antica estate offers a mix of steep, rocky soils in its higher elevations and loamy, well-drained soils in the lower ones. There are more than 50 blocks within the estate, a true patchwork quilt that takes advantage of the variations in soil, elevation, and exposure to best match varietal, rootstock, and clone to attain the ideal expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. The high altitude (1,800 feet) means cooler daytime temperatures, which provides a long growing season, and gives the grapes complexity, enhanced textures, and dark colors. The steep, rocky and well-drained soils result into low yields (three pounds) per vine, but the fully ripened grapes show great structure with concentrated fruit, and focused and persistent flavors. Tannins are ripe, balanced, and integrated.

We farm Cabernet grapes in eight of Napa’s 16 sub-appellations, with diversification enabling us to make the best possible wine in a given year. This Cabernet offers layered, lush aromas and flavors, including cocoa, cassis and ripe dark berries. Score: 93 Wilfred Wong of Wine.com
COMMENTARY: The just-released 2019 Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet could be the 49th vintage of this iconic brand I have tasted (I'll have to check my notes, I may have missed one or two)—my favorites have been the 1972 and 1973 vintages. Over the last two decades, the wines have amused me as they have taken intriguing turns in the road. The 2019 vintage, the winery's best in recent times, is exciting and profound. TASTING NOTES: This wine shows up with the lasting power of black fruit and licorice. Its layers of persistent and formidable fruit could turn a semi-vegetarian into a carnivore.

$110.00
Long Shadows Series Columbia Valley, WA Winemaker Notes: Among Tuscany's oldest and most prestigious wine families, Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari teamed with Allen Shoup to produce a wine that showcases Washington State's terroir with plenty of Italian character. Saggi (meaning "wisdom") is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.
Budbreak was later than usual in 2017 due to a cool, wet spring, but temperatures warmed nicely for bloom. Conditions moderated in early summer before warming again in July to drive total heat accumulation a bit above average for the season. Harvest began towards the end of August, then temperatures cooled considerably in mid-September to extend hang time and allow the grapes to reach full physiological maturity without spiking sugars. The resulting wines are rich and expressive, displaying excellent acidity and structure that is reflective of the quality of the vintage.
Handpicked grapes were gently crushed and fermented in small, two-ton tanks. Then, using a technique called saignée (French for “to bleed”), 5-10% of the juice was removed from the tank at the beginning of fermentation to increase the proportion of grape skins to juice. This results in a richer, more concentrated wine. Small lot, extended maceration for an average of 30 days provided refined tannins and a silky mouthfeel. Aged 18 months in all French oak barrels (60% new).
